CBRE has announced the appointment of Sam Harrison to lead its Capital Markets Office business in Victoria, positioning the firm to capitalise on Melbourne’s next office market growth cycle.

Mr Harrison joined CBRE from investment banking firm Barrenjoey, where he was the Founding Corporate Finance Principal (Real Estate). In this role, he advised on complex real estate transactions, capital structures and financial strategies across the office sector.

He also brings strong client-side experience from his previous role as Manager, Corporate Development Transactions at Abacus Property Group, where he was responsible for investment analysis, transaction execution and portfolio strategy.

Based in Melbourne, Mr Harrison will focus on expanding CBRE’s capital markets activity across Victoria, deepening client engagement and supporting investors as capital continues to re-enter the office market.

CBRE’s Pacific Head of Capital Markets Flint Davidson said the appointment reflected confidence in Melbourne’s medium-term office fundamentals.

“Sam’s appointment comes at a time when we are seeing renewed investor interest and improving sentiment across the Melbourne office market,” Mr Davidson said.

“He brings a highly differentiated skill set that blends capital markets expertise with a strong understanding of real estate fundamentals, which positions CBRE to capture opportunities as the next growth cycle unfolds. Sam’s experience and strong client relationships will be instrumental as clients look to deploy capital with greater conviction.”

Mr Harrison is relocating from Sydney to Melbourne and will commence in his role on April 29, with further Victorian office team appointments to be announced in due course.
