‘Surfing’ real estate, be careful of going aground

The real estate market recently witnessed many signs of recovery with liquidity improved in many segments, especially in low-cost one, to the extent that many customers had to draw lots to gain the right of purchasing some apartment products. While it may originate from real demands, it may be also the tricks of property firms and hoarders who try to create a “fake fever” to boost their sales. Duong Thuy Dung, Head of Research at CBRE Vietnam, said that in recent sale events of some projects, many customers bought 10-20 apartments, or even the whole apartment floor, for re-sale purpose. She said this is an important factor to boost apartment sales, making the market become livelier in upcoming time. Explaining this, phenomenon she added that lower interest rate and easier access to housing loan have simulated property investors to return to the market.
