According to the property consulting firm CBRE Vietnam’s survey on office market in 2nd quarter 2014, it is rare to see the opposite situation of office market in Vietnam’s two major economic centers. In Hanoi, average monthly office rental price decreased to US$21.8 per sqm, in which A Grade and B Grade segments had its price down by 3.2pct and 0.4pct quarter-on-quarter respectively; the occupancy rate in both segments also decreased by to 23.1pct and 34pct respectively. Meanwhile, in HCMC, the office market continued its upward trend in both rental price and occupancy rate. To be more specific, rental price in A Grade and B Grade segments were 7.7pct and 5.5pct year-on-year respectively, while occupancy rate in the two segments were 2.9pcy and 2.8pct respectively.
