For the first time after five years, buying power surpasses supply of apartments in HCMC

2017 records HCMC apartment market happening oppositely with the worries of many firms and experts. The common oversupply situation for the first time sees an impressive reversal. According to CBRE Vietnam, supply in 2017 in the city has reduced by 18pct y-o-y, equivalent to more than 31,000 units. Not only seeing a reduction in supply, buying power also comes to a halt. However, these factors will create advantageous conditions for the market to absorb inventory from previous years. CBRE said that 2017 is the year seeing the number of existing projects selling more than new projects over five years. Buying power decreases, but HCMC is still better than Hanoi in term of trade volume.
