FDI pouring into real estate carefully

“The fact that the current foreign direct investment (FDI) proportion in real estate is less than the 2007-2009 period shows that international investors is increasingly becoming careful when choosing projects to invest in,” said Marc Townsend, Managing Director of CBRE Vietnam, when talking with Dau Tu (Investment) newspaper reporter. He also cited a series of foreign investment deals such as: Keppel Land sold Sedona Suite Hanoi to BRG but bought Hanoi Westage and made an investment in The Estella project with Tien Phuoc; Gamuda Land bought Celadon City project or Thailand TCC bought Big C supermarket system. “They are property acquisitions rather than divestment,” Marc Townsend said.
