Lotte plans second Hanoi mall​
Inside Retail Asia

South Korean conglomerate Lotte is to build a second Hanoi mall. It will be in a 200,000 sqm complex near West Lake in the Vietnamese capital. Included in the mall will be a department store, supermarket and a cinema, all to be directly run by Lotte affiliates. Construction is set to start within the next couple of months for completion in 2020.

Samsung affirms $2.5 billion expansion in Bac Ninh​

Samsung is going to receive the investment certificate for its $2.5 billion Samsung Display project in the northern province of Bac Ninh on 24th Feb 2017.The project is going to be located in Yen Phong Industrial Park. It has been approved in principle by the government earlier, and the government is going to give to the project all the incentives that are available to a large-scale project. With this project, Samsung Display’s total investment in Vietnam is going to be $6.5 billion. Samsung reaffirms its position as the biggest foreign investor into Vietnam at the moment. At the moment Samsung has registered $17.3 billion of investment in Vietnam.

Ho Chi Minh City officials approve of 15,000ha ‘New City’ in Cu Chi

Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City have expressed their support for a mega-project that will include a so-called ‘New City’ and span over 15,000 hectares in the northern part upon completion. The project, named ‘New City,’ is expected to cover an area of 15,000 hectares, about 15 times the combined area of Phu My Hung New Urban Area in District 7 and Thu Thiem New Urban Area in District 2. The developer of the project in the outlying district of Cu Chi is Tuan Chau Corporation, a conglomerate based in the northern tourist city of Ha Long.

Constructing Boulevard along Saigon River, developing Cu Chi and Can Gio – national project of HCMC

To create a dramatic change and exploit the potential of the land rich in tradition but not truly revolutionary development, Tuan Chau Group – Au Lac Quang Ninh Co.,LTD has proposed series of big projects which helps to  change the appearance of the West of HCMC into a worth living city. The Boulevard along Saigon River is a meaningful project in connecting North-South traffic route and becoming a bridge to connect between districts and neighboring provinces/cities. It will have the lengths of 61km starting from Ben Suc Bridge (Cu Chi) along Saigon River to Ton Duc Thanh – Ham Nghi intersection. It will go across Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, District 12, Binh Thanh and District 1.

Hanoi is going to have 5-floor underground parking

Hanoi People’s Committee has reached agreement on the scale of 3 underground parking projects at Quan Ngua Stadium, Thong Nhat Park and Nhan Chinh Park with 5 floors each. In particular, 1stbasement will be designed with commercial function; the others will be for parking. Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Planning and Architecture preside and coordinate with the Hanoi Urban Planning expeditiously finalize the approval procedure boundaries, only red line, appraisal and approval of the Master Plan, the architectural projects under the current regulations.

HN okays major Mai Linh building project

Ha Noi’s People’s Committee has approved Mai Linh Joint Stock Company’s investment in a big trade centre and apartment complex in Nam Tu Lien district’s Me Tri and Phu Do ward, according to Dau Tu (Investment) online newspaper. The VND4.4 trillion (US$195 million) Golden Palace A project will be located on 20.6 hectares, comprising of an amusement park, a school complex and two trade-apartment buildings.

Vinh Phuc province to get $92m property project

Hoa Binh Construction & Real Estate Corporation has won a contract worth VND2.066 trillion (US$91.8 million) to design and build a golf and garden villa complex in Vinh Phuc Province. The project, Times Garden Vinh Yen, covers an area of 27ha, comprising 558 garden villas, three 18-floor building blocks, trade centre, park and entertainment facilities. The owner of the project is the Urban Development and Construction Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen with 5 partners pouring thousand billion of investment to build Cam Ranh International Airport

The investment capital for this project in Phase 1 is VND 3,735 billion. The developer – CRTC with 2 other banks – Vietcombank and Vietinbank signed cooperation agreement to provide the credit fund of VND 3,000 billion for the project.  According to CRTC, Cam Ranh International Terminal project is developed throughout four three phases and aims for the goal of having 8 million visitors in 2030. The phase 1 of this project is under construction to welcome 2.5 million visitors annually. The project will be put into operation after 18 months from construction (March 2018).

Thai investment fund buys MWG shares for $11m​

Ton Poh Fund, an open-end fund managed by Thailand's Ton Poh Capital, has purchased 1.5 million shares of Mobile World Investment Corp (MWG), a major mobile phone distributor in Viet Nam. The deal was estimated at around VND252 billion ($11 million) with the price of VND168,000 ($7.37) per MWG share on the HCM Stock Exchange.In a related development, Mekong Enterprise Fund II Ltd has registered to offload one million MWG shares between February 27 and March 28 through the negotiation method. The fund is holding eight million MWG shares, equivalent to 5.2 per cent of the group’s capital.

Trung Thuy seeks new site for recreational area in HCMC​

Trung Thuy Group is looking for a new site for a recreational area previously planned to go up on the Tau Hu-Ben Nghe Canal due to problems arising from the implementation of the project. Trung Thuy planned to develop the VND150-billion recreational area based on the combination of eight tourist ferries on the canal section between Khanh Hoi Bridge and Mong Bridge. The ferries measuring 25 meters long each will be arranged like boats being anchored along the banks of a river. Trung Thuy unveiled the project at a seminar on river tourism development in HCMC in November last year. HCMC hopes river tourism will help diversify tourism products and attract more tourists to the city, especially repeat visitors.

HCMC will build bridge crossing Vam Thuan River


The Deputy Prime Minister – Trinh Dinh Dung has assigned the Ministry of Transportation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Construction and related agencies in the appraisal report for the feasibility studies of coastal road investment project in Thai Binh province.
According to Thai Binh People's commitee, the coastal roads of Thai Binh province is planned to go through the administrative boundaries of Thai Thuy and Tien Hai district. It has the length of nearly 45 km, and would be built as follow the grade 3 road standard. The coastal route around the northern sea includes of 6 province: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa, which at least be constructed as a grade 3 road.
