VinaCapital reactivates the casino project worth USD 4 billion in Hoian

VinaCapital announced that Phase I of the project will be completed in Q1/2019. The project will be renamed as HOIANA instead of South Hoi An. It includes a resort with casino, high end golf court, 445 hotel rooms, and 200 luxury apartments, managed by New World Hotels Hong Kong.

Red River master planning set in train

Sun Group, Vingroup and the Hanoi Export-Import Company (Geleximco) will provide the finance for Hanoi to prepare a master plan for the Red River renovation project.
To accelerate planning the Hanoi People’s Committee has agreed to terms with the three investors over finance and will also engage international consultants. “There is no specific plan as yet because it is only a policy of city authorities,” a representative from Sun Group told VET. “The plan will be prepared after all procedures are completed.”

Vinmart+ target for 7-Eleven in Vietnam?

Convenience-store giant 7-Eleven plans to enter Vietnam by taking over VinGroup’s VinMart+ chain, marketplace sources say. In a statement from the US last year, 7-Eleven said it would build stores as well as convert “existing locations”. Now industry insiders are saying the group will swallow VinMart+, but there has been silence from both brands.

HCMC begins forcing business offices out of condo buildings

The HCMC Department of Planning and Investment has urged those businesses having offices in condo buildings in the city to move out within 15 days. They will have to stop operation inside condo buildings and register for new office addresses. If they fail to do so, the department will coordinate with the Construction Department and district authorities to deal with them in accordance with law.
