HCMC solicits investment for big projects

HCMC called for investment in 116 socialised projects, 11 national-scale projects and six other projects in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area at an investment promotion conference on Wednesday. Of the 116 projects, 64 are related to transport infrastructure, five to urban technical infrastructure, seven to flood reduction, three to agriculture, one to manufacturing, four to commerce and services, 21 to urban refurbishment and housing resettlement, six to education projects, one to health project, and four to culture and sports. Of the 11 national projects, nine are related to transport infrastructure, one to education and training project and one to healthcare.

Two more 100% foreign owned banks qualify for real estate

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) added two newly established banks namely Woori Bank (Vietnam) Limited and CIMB Vietnam Bank (100% foreign owned banks) to the list of banks that are eligible for underwriting, Leasing to build houses in the future.

In November, Mai Dich – Thang Long bridge will be built with the cost of VND 5,300 billion

Representative of the Thang Long Project Management Board (Ministry of Transport and Communications) said that the project of building a bridges of Mai Dich section – Thang Long bridge (Ring road 3 of Hanoi) is expected to be started in November 2017. At present, the preparation work for the project is being urgently completed and the project has a total investment of over VND5,300 billion by Japanese ODA and domestic reciprocal capital.

Petroleum company Idemitsu Q8 launches first retail outlet in Vietnam

The first Vietnamese retail outlet of Idemitsu Q8 petroleum company was opened last week in Hanoi, marking the first time a wholly foreign-owned firm has entered the fuel retail sector. Idemitsu Q8 Petroleum LLC was formed via a joint venture between Japan’s Idemitsu and Kuwait Petroleum International Ltd. The entrance of Idemitsu Q8 into Vietnam’s fuel market is welcomed as a positive change in the local petroleum retail sector, which has until now been dominated by domestic companies.

Ministry of Transportation reduced 20% ticket price via BOT Bien Hoa

The Ministry of Transportation has approved a 20% reduction in the price of road services for all types of tickets via BOT Bien Hoa on BIDI on Highway 1 through Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province. The discount will be applied for all round, month and quarter tickets from 1st November. At the same time, automobiles of the four communes of Trung Hoa, Tay Hoa, Dong Hoa and Hung Thinh of Trang Bom district will be reduced as well.

Loans to real estate at 16.8% of total

By September-end, loans to the real estate sector accounted for 16.8 per cent of the total outstanding loans of credit institutions. This was down from 17.1 per cent at the end of last year, reports from the National Financial Supervisory Commission showed. According to the report, 10.3 per cent of the loans were given to the construction industry and 6.5 per cent were for real estate trading.

Hanoi: Remarkable achievements in socio-economic development

According to statsitics from the Hanoi Statistics Department, in the first 9 months of 2017, through efforts and innovation, the socio-economic development of Hanoi has significantly progressed. As of September, the industrial development index of Hanoi has increased 6.7% compared to the same period of 2016, in which, the highest growth rate is from the mining industry with 21.8%, processing – manufacturing industry increased 7.4%, while electricity – gas production increased 4.8%. In particular, some sectors have the growth rate higher than the average percentage of the whole sector, such as: beverage production increased 9%; leather and related products increased 21.3%; electronics and computers increased 26.3%.

Hanoi-Lao Cai railway officially available after several days of division

Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railway Corporation Doi Si Hung said that the work of overcoming the Hanoi-Lao Cai railway at a serious landslide at the railway station of Lam Giang (Yen Bai) on October 9. With the continuous progress throughout the day, plus favorable weather, this morning (13 October) Hanoi – Lao Cai railway has completed step 1, for the train to pass at 5km/h.
