HCMC will leave out 17 industrial clusters from its master zoning plan for industrial production to ensure the city will have only 13 industrial zones (IZs) covering nearly 764 hectares in total in 2020, heard a meeting on July 7.

The HCM City real estate market is seeing an increase in people buying apartments to resell soon or lease out. Sai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Saigon) newspaper quotes a sales agent at a property firm as saying that many apartments there are rented out, with one investor owning 10 units.

Korea wants to build $1 billion wholesale market in Hanoi

Hong Sun, the secretary general of Korcham in Vietnam, said the market will cover 300ha and provide information and technology to promote international sales by auction. It will also have hotels and a retail trade centre. Total capital is estimated to be USD1bn, rising to USD2bn, funded by the governments of South Korea and Vietnam, and private companies. The main trading centre is estimated to cost USD200-400m and is expected to be completed within three years.

On July 4th, Tan Hoang Minh Group has officially commenced construction of D’.Le Roi Soleil – Quang An at no.2 Dang Thai Mai, Hanoi. The project is 10.000 sqm in area comprising of two 25-storey buildings with 498 apartments, a 8-storey serviced tower, a shopping mall and 6 basements. PM approves $1 billion ‘eco' complex

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the building of a US$1 billion "ecological" complex on Vu Yen Island in the northern port city of Hai Phong. The project had been proposed by real estate developer Vingroup, first to the Ministry of Construction and then the Prime Minister. The island will be developed into an "ecological zone" with villas, a 36-hole golf course, and amusement parks. The complex, with an investment of VND22.7 trillion (more than US$1 billion), will be spread over an area of 872ha in the districts of Thuy Nguyen and Hai An. The site is crisscrossed by three different rivers – Ruot Lon, Bach Dang and Cam.

People’s Committee of Hanoi has written requests to arrange temporary houses for collective households at C8 Giang Vo, serving the renovated building because of the seriously degraded situation of the building. To the proponents in charge of renovating and constructing of Song Da Urban Investment and Development Company, City requested early report of project construction of 3 blocks of C8, implementation and capital disposition plan. HN-Sapa link road gets Lao Cai approval

The People's Committee of the mountainous Lao Cai province has approved a plan to build a link road from Noi Bai – Lao Cai Highway to Sapa district, officials said last week.  The 27 km-long link road is expected to be constructed with technological standards suitable to mountainous areas. According to the plan, the entire route will have nine bridges, including five viaducts, and four flyovers over streams.
