Holiday Inn Resort Hồ Tràm Beach to open in 2020

Ho Tram Project Company Limited (HTP) on Thursday signed an agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to rebrand the Grand Ho Tram at the Ho Tram Strip integrated resort to InterContinental Grand Ho Tram within a year after refurbishments.

The same day, HTP announced that Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach – a 502-room hotel featuring facilities geared for family fun – will open its doors in 2020.

 

 


 

WeWork to add two new locations in Vietnam this year

After announcing plans to expand its presence in Singapore, co-working space provider WeWork is now set to open two new locations in Vietnam before the end of the year. The two new WeWork locations will be in Ho Chi Minh City, a company spokesperson said. The company launched its first location in Vietnam in March this year at E. Town Central in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 4.


 

 

Uniqlo Vietnam sets launch date

Uniqlo has signed up a raft of Vietnamese celebrities to launch its much-awaited first store in the country. Uniqlo Vietnam will make its debut on December 6, opening in a three-level, 3097sqm space previously occupied by a Parkson department store. It is located opposite the local flagship stores of rival chains H&M and Zara.
The new store, to be called Uniqlo Dong Khoi after the street it is located on, will be the Japanese apparel brand’s largest in Southeast Asia.

 

 

 

HCMC attracts US$6 billion in FDI in 10 months

HCMC attracted US$6.17 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the January-October period this year, up 3.4% over the same period in 2018, according to the Department of Planning and Investment.

 

 

 

More foreign companies expand investment in Viet Nam

Currently, Samsung is the largest foreign investor in Viet Nam with a total registered capital of over US$17 billion. Partners of VinaCapital, which currently manages over US$3.3 billion of total assets, also expressed its desire to co-operate and invest in Viet Nam in many fields, including liquefied natural gas, technology, tourism, consumption and real estate.

 

 

 

BIM Land gets US$50 million from foreign lenders

 

BIM Land Joint Stock Company, a real estate development arm of BIM Group, has secured up to US$50 million in financing from Credit Suisse AG, Singapore Branch. The financing consists of a committed base size of US$35 million with a US$15 million greenshoe, making the second offshore loan that BIM Land has successfully arranged this year with international lenders. Its first offshore loan that worth US$87.5 million was signed earlier this year with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

 

 

 

ParkCity Hanoi launches first apartment towers

With innovative designs based on years of experience, this anticipated condominium comprises two towers of 31-storey each with only 432 unit. Phu My Hung completes Happy Valley Premier construction, begins selling

It is the last project the company will develop in the entertainment district that is in Phu My Hung City Centre. The over 4,200sq.m Happy Valley Premier has four fronts opposite parks, schools and rivers. It is also close to Crescent Mall, an amusement hub. Construction is complete, and the 55 duplexes in the project could be handed over immediately, the company said. Each duplex apartment is around 169sq.m in size. The project has two towers with four duplexes on each floor so that all of them have good views.

 

 

 
Bus network now covers 78% of Hanoi’s territory

Total number of passengers using buses across Hanoi city in 2019 is estimated at 510.5 million. Hanoi currently has 124 bus routes, covering 30 districts and towns, 453 out of 584 communes, representing a coverage ratio of 78%, local media quoted a report at a meeting on November 4. The report also showed that public passenger transport continues to grow. Total number of passengers using public transport across the city in 2019 is estimated at 948.5 million. Of the number, 510.5 million are transported by bus, meeting about 17.03% of the people’s commuting demand, an increase of 3.2 percentage points compared to 2017.

 

 

 
FMCG market hits double-digit growth in rural areas: Kantar

The Vietnamese fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) market has hit a new record of 10% growth in rural areas, the highest in four years, according to market research consultant Kantar Worldpanel.
