AirAsia's plan to launch Vietnam carrier fails to take off





The Malaysian budget airline, in a statement, said it had ended its agreement with Gumin Company Ltd and Hai Au Aviation to set up a low-cost carrier in a pact signed in March 2017.


HCMC and Dong Nai province speed up construction of Cat Lai Bridge

After completion and putting into operations, Cat Lai Bridge connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the provincial road No. 25C of Dong Nai and future Long Thanh International Airport will contribute reducing a high volume of vehicles and traffic congestion for the Ho Chi Minh City- Long Thanh and Dau Giay Expressway on normal days and the holidays.



Hue – Da Nang seaplane flights on way
The first seaplane flights between Hue and Da Nang will take off on April 25, operated by Hai Au Aviation and offering stunning sightseeing of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the two cities. Using a 12-passenger Cessna aircraft, Hai Au offers three options of 30-minute, 40-minute, or 80-minute flights between Phu Bai Airport in Hue and Da Nang International Airport.

Far East Hospitality and 5 Elements Development signed a management contract signing ceremony for two luxury boutique hotels in HCMC and are expected to officially operate in September 2019. The first project is located at the corner of Le Cong Kieu and Nguyen Thai Binh streets (District 1).



Central bank asks for tightened control over real estate loans
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has asked for the control over real estate loans by credit institutions to be enhanced, especially in areas showing signs of land price fever. At the same time, supervision over lending would be enhanced, especially for property and consumer loans, to ensure safety and that the loans were used for the intended purposes. The order was issued amid land price fever reported in several localities, including Da Nang, Quang Nam and Van Don.

Indochina Kajima Development (UK) Limited (ICC-Kajima), together with contractor Newtecons Investment Construction JSC (Newtecons) has started the main package of the first Wínk Hotel at 75 Nguyen Binh Khiem street of HCMC.

Vingroup opens new AI research institute

The new AI research centre will be chaired by Dr Bui Hai Hung, former senior AI expert for Google and member of the editorial board at Artificial Intelligence magazine. Hung has had nearly 100 studies published in well-known IT magazines, and has nearly 10 invention certificates issued by the US agencies. The establishment of VinAI Research, which is managed by Vingroup’s technology arm VinTech, is the group’s next step to upgrade its business to an international level in technology, services and industrial fields.
