CBRE: Total retail floor of HCMC up 50pct

Evaluating the development of shopping centers in 168 major cities around the world, CBRE highlights that the global shopping center pipeline has reached 41.9 million sq. m. in 2015, with Asian cities dominating all of the top ten most active global markets. Joel Stephen, Senior Head and Chief Representative at CBRE Asia, said that the area of newly-built trade centers across the world last year is 10.6mln sqm, down compared to 12,1mln sqm in 2014. However, the Asia market still maintains the liveliness, despite that there is already a notable change, which is the completion of shopping centers is being suspended, due to the global retail market being affected by the imbalance of supply and demand.
