CBRE has announced its latest publication on South East Asia retail market titled “It’s All About P.L.A.C.E. Making”. According to this report, shopping centres remain the key point of purchase among consumers; however, landlords are facing pressure in the growth of digital platforms. Desmond Sim, Head of CBRE Research, Singapore and South East Asia, comments that establishing an online platform providing ‘click-and-collect’ or from ‘store-to-door’ services will attract more customers and give them a more memorable experience. He stresses the urgency of this task as the market is anticipating a surge in internet and smart phone usage amongst the developing countries.
