CBRE: Generation Z to have big influence on retail market

CBRE Vietnam recently released the Asia – Pacific Consumer Survey – The Online Shopping Trend. In accordance, the survey focuses on e-trading sector, showing that online shopping has surpassed traditional shopping and become the most common shopping method in Asia markets. Consumers aged 18-24 is called the Generation Z, who will keep the leading role in the region's retail market in upcoming years thanks to their increasing income when participating into the labour market. According to Joel Stephen, Head of Retail for Asia at CBRE, owners of trade centers and retailers need to be sharper in order to catch up with latest trends in smartphone apps and social networks, then develop a close interactive relationship with consumers, especially Generation Z.
